Wastewater Collection and Wastewater Treatment for the Lovech Town of Bulgaria (LOT1)

The objectives of the investment measures in the wastewater sector are:


  • - To decrease the direct discharge of untreated wastewater to surface water by construction of WWTP
  • - To optimize the work of WWTP’s by reduction of leakages in the sewer networks and other improvements
  • - To increase the population served by sewer networks;
  • - To increase the proportion of the population whose wastewater discharge receives full treatment

The design in the wastewater sector includes:


  • - A wastewater treatment plant, putting an end to the discharge of untreated sewage in the Danube basin
  • - The main collectors and their connections with the existing channels up to the wastewater treatment plant

The design includes:


  • - Replacing the sewerage network (approximately 900 m long)
  • - New sewerage network(approximately 1080 m long), including the hydraulic modelling
  • - Rehabilitation / upgrading of the existing water supply and sewerage systems (total length of about 16,300 m)
